Why It’s NOT OKAY To Use Expired Diabetic Test Strips

November 30th, 2016

Using expired diabetic test strips

Is it okay to use expired diabetic test strips?

To understand why you must not use expired diabetic test strips, you need know what is inside a diabetic test strip and how it works.

Diabetic test strips are made of layers of plastic, gold (it serves as the test strip’s circuit), and enzymes. When a small drop of blood is placed on the test strip, these enzymes react with the glucose on the blood. This chemical reaction is converted into an electrical current. Then, the blood glucose meter reads and displays the blood sugar level.

The enzymes on the test strips are susceptible to breakdown over time. Using expired diabetic test strips may result to inaccurate readings and will confuse testers. Accurate blood sugar readings is a major part in the success of diabetes management.

To ensure that you get an accurate reading, using expired diabetic test strips must be avoided.

Diabetic test strips are expensive. Some people can’t afford the high cost of test strips. Good thing, you can help others by selling your excess diabetic test strips to us. We make sure that it gets to people who need them. You don’t have to worry about selling your test strips. Diabetic test strips is a non-prescription commodity and it is legal to sell them.

Why We Buy Diabetic Test Strips

January 19th, 2016
Some of our clients who sell test strips to us

Some of our clients who sell test strips to us.

Diabetic test strips are important for people with diabetes. It is a very important medical tool but they are very expensive.

There are times that people find themselves having extra test strips. They may have changed meters or they don’t have to test much often. The extra test strips often ends up in the trash.

It is very wasteful to throw away something that other people are struggling to have. This is the reason why we buy diabetic test strips.

We want to serve as middlemen for people who have extra diabetic test strips to wants to let someone else have it instead of throwing it in the trash.

We want people to recycle their unused, undamaged, and unexpired test strips here. It’s a win-win situation. They get extra cash for selling their extra diabetic test strips and we make sure that it gets to people who need the test strips. We sell the diabetic test strips at a lower cost to folks who can’t afford the retail prices. We also donate some of the test strips to local individuals who need them. A part of our proceeds go the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Since 2009, our business has helped our employees support their families and send their children to school. We are grateful to all our clients and customers.

A Few Reminders On Mailing Diabetic Test Strips

November 19th, 2015

We do our best to assure that we provide you with an accurate quote for your diabetic test strips.  We can only buy boxes that are unopened, undamaged, and unexpired.

Here are a few things to remember when sending us test strips:

1. Please make sure to use a sturdy box.

This box is too thin and the post office delivered it damaged.

2. DO use a sharpie or a soft magic marker to cover personal information on the boxes.

Please DO NOT use ball pen because that damages the box underneath it.  When using permanent marker, be careful not to get it on your box of test strips.  Do not remove the labels  — we will remove them after the boxes arrive.

3. DO NOT pack the test strips boxes too tight.

Please DO NOT pack boxes too tight because they arrive at the office damaged.  DO NOT crush or force down boxes because they will get damaged. We are more than happy to send you bigger boxes for free. Just let us know, call 1 855 578 7477

4. We cannot accept boxes with opened seals.

We only buy FACTORY-SEALED, UNOPENED AND UNDAMAGED BOXES of most brands of diabetic test strips. Test strips must be no less than 120 days away from the imprinted expiration date.

Please read our Mailing Instructions page for more information.

5 Ways to Celebrate World Diabetes Day

November 14th, 2015

It’s that time of the year again when blue colors are emblazoned in different parts of the world! Every year on the 14th of November, World Diabetes Day calls global awareness to the alarming rise of diabetes around the world. Each year, issues facing the global diabetes community are addressed and discussed.

Over the years, this annual awareness campaign has evolved, making it one of the most celebrated campaigns in the world. With all the talks and lectures about this day, how can we play our part in celebrating World Diabetes Day?

1. Go for a blue breakfast

You don’t necessarily have to get out of the house and join the crowd to participate in the awareness campaign. Start the day with a healthy breakfast and share to your friends and family the importance of healthy and balanced diet for the prevention of diabetes. This simple gesture makes all the difference.

2. Promote the campaign through your social media accounts

If you have Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, you can share information about this campaign to raise awareness to all your friends or followers. One single share can already call the attention of others.

3. Wear blue shirts

Wear blue shirts and convince others in your community to join you. It will cause a ripple effect which will eventually encourage more people to join.

4. Organize a physical activity event

Exercise is as important as having a healthy and balanced diet for the prevention and management of diabetes. Organize any physical activity event in your community such as cycling, Zumba dancing, or simply walking. You are not only raising awareness but you are making your body healthy as well.

5. Take a blue circle selfie

Promote this global awareness campaign in a fun way by taking a blue circle selfie. You can make your own creation or download the World Diabetes Day app for free on Apple Store or Google Play.
